Renowned classical singer Pt. Ajitkumar Kadkade was honoured with the Gomant Vibhushan, Goa’s highest civilian award, at a ceremony held at Kala Academy in Panaji. The award was presented by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the presence of Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phaldessai, Chaya Kadkade, and other dignitaries.
The recognition celebrates Pt. Kadkade’s decades-long contribution to Indian classical and devotional music, which has deeply influenced Goa’s cultural identity. In his address, the Chief Minister praised Kadkade’s legacy and spoke about the state’s commitment to promoting cultural and artistic traditions.
The event also featured a special photo exhibition tracing the singer’s musical journey, which will remain open for public viewing at the Kala Academy.
