Vasco: Vasco Railway Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Bagalkot, Karnataka, in connection with a theft reported on the Velankanni–Vasco Express train.
The accused, identified as Ambrish Beggar, was taken into custody following an investigation launched after a complaint regarding theft onboard the train. Acting on inputs and evidence gathered during the probe, police were able to trace and apprehend the suspect.
Officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused was involved in any similar incidents or acted alone. Authorities are also verifying the sequence of events and recovering details related to the stolen property.
The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by Railway Police to ensure passenger safety and curb criminal activity on long-distance trains passing through Goa.
