A Panaji-bound taxi lost control near Neo Majestic and veered across the road divider before ending up on the Mapusa-bound lane, in an accident that left the driver with minor injuries.
According to available information, the taxi was travelling towards Panaji when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Neo Majestic, causing it to cross onto the opposite carriageway. The vehicle came to a halt on the Mapusa-bound side of the road, creating a brief scare for motorists in the area.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the incident, preventing what could have turned into a more serious accident on the busy stretch. The driver reportedly sustained only minor injuries and was safe, while the exact cause of the accident is yet to be officially clarified.
The incident once again highlights concerns over road safety and vehicle control on Goa’s highways, especially on stretches that witness heavy traffic movement through the day. Authorities are expected to assess the circumstances surrounding the accident and ensure that traffic flow in the area remains unaffected.
While the mishap did not result in major casualties or a collision with other vehicles, it serves as a reminder of how quickly road situations can turn dangerous, particularly on high-speed routes.
