Manoj Parab Defamed in Fake Scam Video: RGP Files Cyber Crime Complaint

The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has filed a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ribandar against the circulation of a manipulated video and digitally altered image that falsely links party president Manoj alias Tukaram Parab and his father to the Asthagandha Credit Society scam. The complaint, submitted by RGP General Secretary Vishvesh Sham Naik, accuses individuals of spreading defamatory content across platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube. The party clarified that the man shown in the fabricated media has no relation to Parab, and categorically denied any connection to the alleged scam.

Three individuals have been named in the complaint for allegedly forwarding the content via WhatsApp groups: Menino Desouza, Ajit Sawant, and Mark Dacosta. The party has urged the police to initiate legal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, including provisions related to defamation, public mischief, and online impersonation. RGP also called for tracing the origin of the content, identifying group admins, and launching a cyber awareness campaign to curb the spread of misinformation. The party stated that such acts not only damage personal reputations but also undermine public trust in political institutions.
