Residents of Coldem, along with Adv. Pratima Coutinho, have issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the authorities, demanding immediate assurance on the installation of a transformer in the ward. They warned that a protest will be launched if the issue is not addressed within the stipulated time.
Speaking during a meeting with residents, Adv. Pratima Coutinho highlighted the difficulties faced by households due to the lack of adequate power infrastructure. Residents alleged that the delay in installing the transformer has resulted in recurring electricity-related issues, affecting daily life and causing inconvenience to the local community.
The residents expressed frustration over what they described as prolonged inaction despite repeated representations to the concerned authorities. They said the demand for a new transformer is essential to ensure a stable electricity supply and to meet the growing power requirements of the area.
Issuing a stern warning, the residents said they would be left with no option but to stage a protest if the authorities fail to provide a concrete assurance within the next 24 hours. They urged the concerned department to act swiftly and resolve the issue before the situation escalates.
Adv. Coutinho reiterated that the demand is centred on ensuring basic infrastructure for the community and called on officials to respond promptly to the residents’ concerns.
With the 24-hour deadline now in place, all eyes are on the authorities’ response as Coldem residents await a resolution to the long-pending issue.
