Verna Police have registered a FIR following a complaint from a Zuarinagar resident who was allegedly duped of ₹2.31 lakh in a fraudulent work-from-home job scheme.

The victim was approached online with promises of a high-paying remote job. He was eventually asked to pay a sum in advance for onboarding or registration, which he transferred. However, after sending the funds, communication abruptly ceased, and the job offer turned out to be bogus. Upon realising he had been scammed, the victim lodged a formal complaint with Verna Police. The case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanchita and IT Act. The police have also issued a cautionary note, urging job seekers to verify offers and avoid sending money in advance without proper validation.
