32-YEAR-OLD RIDER KILLED IN HIT-AND-RUN ON NH-17B

A devastating hit-and-run accident on National Highway 17B has resulted in the tragic death of a 32-year-old two-wheeler rider. The victim, identified as Pravin Shirolkar, a resident of Baina, lost his life after being involved in a fatal collision near the BITS Pilani campus in Goa. The severity of the incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, underscoring persistent concerns regarding road safety and reckless driving on major thoroughfares.

According to preliminary investigations by the local police, Shirolkar was fatally crushed by a truck traveling along the highway. Following the immediate aftermath of the horrific collision, the driver of the heavy vehicle callously chose to flee the scene rather than rendering aid or reporting the accident to the authorities. This prompted an immediate response from law enforcement, who began efforts to track down the fleeing vehicle and its operator.

The ensuing manhunt was relatively short-lived, as the absconding truck driver later chose to voluntarily surrender to authorities at the Verna Police Station. Following the surrender, the police promptly seized the truck involved in the fatal incident as a crucial piece of physical evidence. Authorities have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the tragic death of Pravin Shirolkar and to ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
