Panaji: Calls for an independent investigation into the death of Dr Ketan Bhatikar have intensified, with senior advocate Radharao Gracias urging that the case be handed over to the Karnataka Police to ensure a fair, transparent, and impartial inquiry.
Addressing the media, Gracias questioned the circumstances surrounding Dr Bhatikar’s death and expressed concern over what he described as several unanswered questions in the case. He argued that an investigation by an agency outside Goa would help eliminate any perception of bias and strengthen public confidence in the probe.
According to Gracias, an independent investigation by the Karnataka Police would ensure that all aspects of the case are examined objectively and that no crucial evidence or leads are overlooked. He stressed that the truth behind Dr Bhatikar’s death must be established through a thorough and credible investigation.
The demand comes amid growing public interest in the case, with calls from various quarters for greater transparency and accountability. Supporters of an independent probe believe that an external investigating agency would help address concerns surrounding the ongoing investigation and ensure justice for the deceased and his family.
Authorities have not yet responded to the demand for transferring the investigation. Meanwhile, the case continues to attract significant public attention as many await further developments and clarity on the circumstances surrounding Dr Bhatikar’s death.
