Anjuna Police are investigating a grave incident after a 19-year-old college student came forward alleging that she was sexually assaulted and robbed at a resort in Vagator earlier this year. The survivor also revealed that she is currently pregnant, reportedly as a result of the assault.
In her complaint, the student stated she was invited to the resort by an acquaintance, where the alleged assault took place. She also reported that personal belongings were stolen during the incident. The matter remained undisclosed for some time until she recently learned about the pregnancy, prompting her to approach the police. Acting swiftly, the Anjuna Police have arrested the accused, who is now in custody. The case has been registered under sections related to rape and theft of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigation is underway. Police officials have assured that the matter is being handled with utmost sensitivity given the serious and personal nature of the allegations.
