Anjuna Police on Thursday detained a woman from Haryana and her male companion from Maharashtra in connection with the alleged abetment to suicide of the woman’s husband in Rohtak, Haryana. The accused, identified as Divya (27) and Deepak Sonawane (36), were traced to Anjuna based on local intelligence inputs and were handed over to the Haryana Police the same evening. The detention followed a request from Bahuakbarpur Police, who are investigating the June 18 suicide of Magan, a resident of Dobh village in Rohtak.

Magan was found hanging from a tree and had reportedly recorded a suicide video in which he alleged mental harassment and emotional torture by his wife and her partner, who is a policeman posted in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The video reportedly names both individuals and accuses them of pushing him to take the extreme step. According to the victim’s family, shortly before the incident, Magan received a video from Divya, allegedly showing her dancing closely with Deepak. The family claims this incident further aggravated his distress. Authorities have registered a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) and other relevant provisions of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
