In light of a growing number of police complaints involving teachers, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has called for the wider adoption of value-based education in Goa’s schools to encourage mutual respect and emotional intelligence among students and educators. The CM highlighted the role of the Mulyavardhan programme, which has been active in the state for the past six years, benefiting thousands of students and teachers through interactive, values-driven classroom practices. He stressed that consistent use of such teaching methods can significantly reduce friction between students and teachers and help foster a more positive learning environment. Dr. Sawant also addressed the issue of rural school closures, noting that many parents are relocating to urban areas in search of better schooling options. He reiterated the importance of modern and creative teaching approaches to restore confidence in local institutions and improve educational standards statewide.
