On the occasion of Goa’s 39th Statehood Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant extended a symbolic gesture of recognition and support by distributing a total of 47 sponsor letters under two key government welfare schemes.
Sixteen sponsor letters were issued under the Children of Freedom Fighters Scheme, a program run by the Home Department to assist the descendants of those who fought for India’s independence. In addition, thirty-one letters were granted under the Compassionate Scheme of the Personnel Department, which provides employment support to families of deceased government employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sawant described the initiative as an expression of “care and gratitude” toward those who have selflessly served the nation and their families. The event highlighted the state government’s commitment to preserving the legacy of Goa’s freedom fighters while ensuring that families facing hardship receive timely support.
