In a remarkable personal achievement, Panaji Mayor Rohit Monserrate has successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro, making him the first Indian mayor to scale Africa’s tallest mountain.
Completing the 7-day expedition, Monserrate reached the Uhuru Peak, which stands at an elevation of 19,341 feet, part of the globally renowned Seven Summits challenge. The mayor’s feat not only marks a personal milestone but also brings recognition to Panaji on the global adventure map. He described the journey as physically demanding yet immensely fulfilling, symbolizing strength, focus, and leadership beyond the political sphere.
