The State Bank of India has issued a public warning about fraudulent deepfake videos circulating online, falsely claiming to promote investment platforms allegedly supported by the bank, the Government of India, and global corporations. These AI-generated videos are being used to lure viewers into schemes that promise unrealistically high returns.
SBI clarified that it has no connection with such platforms and strongly urged people not to engage with or trust any unofficial content promoting financial schemes. The bank has reminded customers to verify all investment information only through its official website, social media channels, or local branches.
With deepfake scams on the rise, this alert serves as a timely reminder to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to AI-driven financial fraud.
