In a formal letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, India’s Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has tendered his resignation from office, effective immediately. He cited the need to prioritize his health and follow medical guidance, invoking Article 67(a) of the Indian Constitution.
He expressed sincere gratitude to the President for her unwavering support and the warm working relationship during his tenure. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers for their cooperation and invaluable guidance. Dhankhar acknowledged the respect and kindness received from Members of Parliament and described his term as deeply enriching especially as he witnessed and participated in India’s economic growth and transformative development. As he leaves office, he conveyed pride in India’s global progress and confidence in the nation’s bright future.
