CM Convoy Case Head Constable Samir Fadte Suspended

Panaji, Goa: Goa Police has suspended Head Constable Samir Fadte in connection with an alleged security breach involving Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s convoy, marking a significant development in the ongoing departmental inquiry.

According to police, the incident occurred near Amona when a car allegedly driven by Fadte reportedly lost control and came dangerously close to the Chief Minister’s convoy. Officials further alleged that the vehicle attempted to leave the scene, prompting members of the convoy to intercept it. Three occupants of the vehicle were detained, while Fadte was traced the following day.

Police have also alleged that the occupants were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. While no FIR was registered as there was no collision or injuries, the incident was treated as a serious breach of security protocol, leading to disciplinary action against the head constable.

The suspension has been imposed pending the outcome of a departmental inquiry, which will examine whether established security protocols were violated and determine any further action. The case has sparked discussions on the importance of strict adherence to VIP security procedures and accountability within the police force.

Further updates are expected as the departmental proceedings continue.
