Goa Labour Minister Says 250 Pharma Vacancies Unfilled; No Goan Applicants Yet

Goa’s Labour Minister Babush Monserrate has said that nearly 250 job openings in the state’s pharmaceutical industry remain vacant, with not a single Goan applicant expressing interest so far.Speaking to the media, Monserrate pointed out that despite the availability of well-paying roles in Goa’s pharma sector, local youth have not come forward to apply. He also dismissed NITI Aayog’s unemployment statistics, saying the figures do not match ground realities in the state.

Monserrate further noted that the state government has already taken steps to ensure companies report vacancies to the Goa Employment Exchange, and strict actions are being planned against those who fail to comply. His remarks come in the backdrop of continued concerns that many private firms prefer hiring from outside the state, allegedly ignoring local talent.
