INAUGURATION OF MODERN VALPOI FIRE STATION

In a significant step toward bolstering emergency infrastructure in Goa’s Sattari taluka, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the newly constructed modern Valpoi Fire Station on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The highly anticipated facility addresses long-standing infrastructure gaps in the region and is expected to substantially enhance local emergency response capabilities.

Executed by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) at a cost of Rs 10.83 crore, the state-of-the-art complex boasts a wide array of amenities. The building is equipped with an expansive appliance bay capable of housing multiple water tenders, an emergency rescue tender, and an ambulance. Beyond operational readiness, the fire station prioritizes the well-being and professional development of its personnel, featuring male and female dormitories, dedicated training classrooms, recreational areas, and a well-equipped gymnasium.

During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Sawant commended the Fire & Emergency Services and emphasized the critical importance of physical fitness for first responders, urging them to utilize the new gym and recreational facilities to maintain their health. Health and Town & Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane, who was also in attendance, expressed satisfaction over the project’s completion. Rane highlighted that the upgraded infrastructure would provide a major boost to safety and efficiency, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring prompt emergency services for the people of Sattari.
