People demand clean water

Residents staged a public protest demanding urgent intervention by the authorities over the alleged supply of contaminated drinking water, raising serious concerns about public health and access to safe drinking water.

Protesters alleged that the water being supplied to their locality was discoloured and unfit for consumption, posing potential health risks to children, the elderly, and other vulnerable residents. Holding placards and raising slogans, they urged the concerned departments to address the issue without further delay and ensure a safe and reliable water supply.

Locals claimed that repeated complaints had failed to bring a lasting solution, prompting them to take to the streets. They called for immediate testing of the water quality, repairs to the distribution network if required, and greater transparency regarding the cause of the contamination.

The protest has once again highlighted the importance of maintaining safe drinking water infrastructure and ensuring regular monitoring of water quality to protect public health. Residents also appealed to authorities to implement long-term measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Officials are expected to inspect the affected area and take appropriate action based on the findings. Further updates are awaited.
