In a significant move aimed at improving passenger security, Indian Railways has announced the installation of CCTV cameras in all passenger coaches and locomotives across the country. The initiative was reviewed by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu, who assessed the ongoing progress of the CCTV implementation project.

The surveillance systems are being installed in common access areas such as entry and exit points inside coaches, ensuring the privacy of passengers while enabling real-time monitoring. These cameras are expected to help in detecting and deterring suspicious activity, ensuring safer journeys for all.
