Ponda, July 28, 2025 – A major fire completely destroyed the home of Premanand Kashinath Naik in the Daag locality of Ponda, Goa. The incident occurred in the early hours and is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Firefighters responded quickly to the scene but were unable to save the structure, which was completely gutted, resulting in an estimated loss of ₹3 lakh.
Authorities are continuing to assess the cause and damages.
