Bardez: A search operation is underway for a 61-year-old man from Thivim who is feared to have drowned after reportedly going fishing near his residence on Sunday evening.
The missing man has been identified as Narendra Sawant (61), a resident of Thivim. According to available information, Sawant had gone fishing near the Manas area close to his home on Sunday evening but failed to return, prompting concern among his family members.
Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Mapusa Fire and Emergency Services, along with other concerned authorities, launched a search operation late on Sunday night. Rescue teams searched the river and surrounding areas in an effort to trace the missing fisherman.
