A 56-year-old man was found dead in a bandhara at Bhat, Quepem, early on Friday morning, prompting police to initiate an investigation into the incident.
Following the discovery, police reached the spot, conducted the necessary inquest and scene-of-offence formalities, and shifted the body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Officials have stated that the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem report and the ongoing enquiry.
Police have not ruled out any possibility at this stage, and investigations are continuing.
