A man residing in the Housing Board area of Sanquelim was taken into custody after police discovered his minor son was the driver in a recent hit-and-run accident. The collision took place on January 10 near the Housing Board junction, located close to Sanskruti Bhavan. The vehicle involved allegedly struck a motorcycle and immediately fled the spot.
Following the accident, the injured motorcyclist was promptly shifted to GMC Bambolim for necessary medical treatment. During the ensuing inquiry, authorities reviewed local CCTV footage to track down the fleeing vehicle. The video evidence revealed that the vehicle in question was a Maharashtra-registered electric car, and notably, it was being driven by a juvenile.
As a result of these findings, law enforcement arrested the minor’s father on January 12. He was subsequently released on bail following his apprehension. The Bicholim police are currently handling the case, and further investigation into the hit-and-run remains underway.
