Porvorim: An Indian spectacled cobra was safely rescued from inside a residential house at Socorro in Porvorim after residents spotted the reptile and immediately alerted wildlife rescuers.
According to reports, the snake had entered the house unnoticed, prompting panic among the occupants who quickly contacted trained rescuers for assistance. The rescue team arrived at the spot and carefully captured the cobra without causing harm to either the reptile or the residents.
The snake, identified as an Indian spectacled cobra, was later released into its natural habitat at a safe distance from human habitation, ensuring both public safety and wildlife conservation.
Residents expressed relief after the successful rescue operation, which prevented any potential danger. Wildlife experts have once again urged citizens to remain cautious during monsoon and humid conditions, when snake sightings inside residential areas tend to increase.
