
FIR Registered in Mapusa Kidnapping and Sexual Abuse Case
Mapusa police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with a serious case of alleged kidnapping and sexual abuse. The complaint involves a minor victim, specifically identified in the reports as a 15-year-old boy. Authorities were prompted to take action following the allegations, initiating legal proceedings to address the reported offenses against the minor.
The accused named in the FIR has been identified as Mathew Almeida, a 34-year-old resident of Bastora. Due to the nature of the allegations involving a minor, law enforcement has invoked multiple stringent legal frameworks. The case has been formally booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Furthermore, charges under the Goa Children’s Act and the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act have been applied, reflecting the comprehensive legal approach taken to protect the child’s rights.
Currently, Mapusa Police have stated that further investigation into the matter is actively underway. The application of the POCSO Act and other specific child protection laws underscores the gravity of the accusations directed at the accused.
