Three persons, including two foreign nationals, were injured after two cars collided at Karmal Ghat in Canacona, briefly disrupting traffic on the busy stretch. The accident occurred on Monday and prompted an immediate response from local residents, emergency services, and police.
According to police, the collision involved two cars travelling through the ghat section. The impact left the two foreign tourists and a local driver injured. All three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, with one of them reported to have sustained serious injuries.
The damaged vehicles temporarily obstructed traffic, resulting in congestion until police and rescue personnel cleared the road. Traffic movement was restored after the vehicles were removed from the carriageway.
Police have registered the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution while driving through ghat sections, especially on narrow and winding roads.
