
Colva Police arrested two persons after seizing suspected narcotic substances worth approximately ₹2 lakh during a raid conducted in the coastal village. The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs as part of an ongoing drive against the illegal drug trade.
According to police, the accused were found in possession of the contraband, which was allegedly intended for sale. The seized drugs have been sent for forensic analysis, while the accused have been booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Investigators are probing the source of the narcotics and examining whether the duo has links to a larger drug trafficking network operating in Goa. Police are also verifying if the accused were involved in supplying drugs to tourists and local consumers.
The accused have been produced before the court and remanded to police custody for further interrogation. Authorities said the crackdown on narcotics will continue, with increased surveillance and enforcement measures aimed at curbing drug-related activities across the state.
