Self-Accident at Usgao

A self-accident was reported near the MRF factory in Usgao on Sunday evening after the driver of a four-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) lost control and rammed into a roadside tree. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, though the vehicle sustained significant damage.

According to eyewitnesses, the car was traveling along the Usgao road when it suddenly veered off course and collided with a tree on the side of the road. Locals rushed to the scene and assisted the driver, who escaped unharmed. The impact, however, left the front portion of the vehicle badly damaged.

Police sources confirmed that the accident occurred due to a loss of control, possibly caused by slippery road conditions or a sudden maneuver. “The driver was alone in the vehicle and did not suffer any injuries. We are verifying the exact cause of the mishap,” said an officer from the Ponda Police Station.

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of road safety and cautious driving, especially on stretches near industrial areas where heavy vehicles and uneven surfaces can pose risks. Authorities have urged motorists to maintain safe speeds and remain alert while navigating the route.

Residents of Usgao expressed relief that the accident did not result in casualties but called for better road maintenance and signage to prevent similar incidents. “This road sees frequent traffic from factory vehicles. Drivers need to be careful, and the authorities should ensure proper lighting and safety barriers,” said a local shopkeeper.

The damaged vehicle was later towed away from the site, and police have initiated a routine inquiry. No foul play is suspected.

While this accident ended without injuries, it serves as a reminder of how quickly a momentary lapse in attention can lead to danger. Motorists are advised to follow traffic rules, avoid distractions, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before hitting the road.
