Residents of Corlim and surrounding areas are advised to prepare for a scheduled power shutdown on January 30, 2026, as maintenance work is set to be carried out at the 200 kVA Vikasnagar transformer. The electricity supply will remain suspended from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, according to an official notice from the electricity department.
The temporary outage is part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the local power network. Technicians will inspect and service the transformer, ensuring that the system continues to operate safely and effectively.
The affected areas include Caribhat, Adharsha Colony, Vikasnagar, and nearby Carambolim. Residents and businesses in these localities are advised to plan accordingly, as power will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
Officials have assured that the shutdown is necessary to prevent future disruptions and enhance service quality. “We request residents to bear with us as we carry out essential maintenance work. The temporary inconvenience will help ensure uninterrupted power supply in the long run,” said a spokesperson for the department.
Local authorities have also urged residents to take precautions during the outage, such as switching off electrical appliances to avoid damage when power is restored.
The electricity department has been conducting similar maintenance drives across Goa to upgrade aging infrastructure and improve distribution efficiency. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to modernize the state’s power grid and reduce technical losses.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official updates and contact local offices for assistance if needed.
