
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that Goa’s upcoming Cancer Hospital is expected to become operational by 2027, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure. The facility is aimed at providing advanced cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care services within Goa, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the state.
Speaking on the project, Rane said the hospital is being developed with modern medical technology and specialized facilities to offer comprehensive cancer care. He added that the government is committed to ensuring the project is completed within the stipulated timeline while maintaining high standards of healthcare.
The minister stated that once operational, the hospital will improve access to affordable and quality cancer treatment for residents of Goa. It is also expected to reduce the burden on existing healthcare institutions and provide specialized oncology services under one roof.
Rane reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing public healthcare and said the Cancer Hospital would play a crucial role in addressing the growing incidence of cancer cases in the state. He expressed confidence that the project would significantly improve healthcare outcomes and benefit thousands of patients in the years to come.
