Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired a series of crucial Pre-Budget Consultation Meetings at the state secretariat to lay down the financial roadmap for the upcoming fiscal year. The high-level meetings are designed to ensure that the Goa State Budget 2026–27 is structured dynamically to address both macroeconomic stability and grassroots welfare.
The intensive consultations witnessed active participation from a wide, cross-section of institutional stakeholders, industry bodies, and representatives from various socio-economic sectors. Trade leaders, agricultural experts, and tourism stakeholders presented detailed memorandums to the executive team, outlining fiscal interventions required to boost local productivity.
During the sessions, diverse inputs and targeted suggestions were debated to shape a comprehensive, inclusive, and balanced budget for the upcoming financial year. The discussions heavily focused on upgrading public infrastructure, optimizing tax structures, and allocating adequate resources toward green energy initiatives and youth employment schemes.
The government strongly emphasized the importance of collaborative planning and stakeholder engagement in the budgeting process to ensure maximum transparency. Chief Minister Sawant assured the delegates that their practical suggestions would be evaluated thoroughly by the finance department before the official budget presentation in the Legislative Assembly.
