Taxi Crashes Into Divider on DB Road in Panaji; No Injuries Reported

A self-accident was reported late at night on Dayanand Bandodkar (DB) Road in Panaji, Goa, near the Deltin Casino area. A commercial tourist taxi, identified as a white Toyota Innova Crysta, lost control and rammed directly into the heavy metal railing of the road divider. The collision caused severe structural damage to the front end of the vehicle and bent a significant portion of the civic infrastructure.

Emergency responses and local onlookers rushed to the scene immediately following the crash. Fortunately, despite the considerable impact on the vehicle’s bumper and grille, no injuries or fatalities were reported from the incident. Authorities quickly arrived to secure the area, manage traffic flow, and oversee the removal of the damaged taxi from the public road.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the exact circumstances that led up to the crash. The incident comes amid a broader push by the state administration, including emphasized statements from government officials like Minister Vishwajit Rane, demanding strict regulatory action and closer monitoring of road mishaps involving commercial and tourist transport services across Goa.
