Siolim: A slippery stretch of road in Siolim turned into a major safety hazard after nearly 18 to 20 two-wheelers reportedly skidded and fell within a short span, raising serious concerns among commuters and local residents.
The incidents reportedly occurred on a road opposite a petrol pump, where the surface had become dangerously slippery. Several riders lost control of their vehicles, with many sustaining minor injuries as they fell on the road. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported so far.
The repeated accidents triggered panic among commuters, while locals rushed to assist the injured and alert other motorists about the hazardous stretch. Residents have blamed the condition of the road and are demanding that the concerned authorities take immediate corrective measures before a more serious accident occurs.
Citizens have urged officials to inspect the road, identify the cause of the slippery surface, and implement safety measures such as cleaning the stretch, improving road grip, and installing warning signs to prevent further mishaps.
