CM Claims He Knows Who Challenged Mhaje Ghar Scheme

A fresh political development has emerged in the ongoing controversy surrounding Goa’s Mhaje Ghar housing scheme, with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stating that he knows who is behind the court case challenging the initiative. While making the claim, the Chief Minister assured beneficiaries that the state government’s commitment to the scheme remains firm and unchanged.

Addressing the issue, CM Sawant said the government is fully aware of the individuals or groups responsible for initiating the legal challenge against the scheme. However, he maintained that the administration would continue to pursue the matter through the appropriate legal process and would not allow the litigation to affect its commitment towards providing housing assistance to eligible beneficiaries.

The Mhaje Ghar scheme has been introduced to support economically weaker sections by providing financial assistance for the construction and completion of houses. The initiative has benefited several families across Goa and is regarded as one of the state’s key welfare programmes aimed at improving access to affordable housing.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains dedicated to safeguarding the interests of beneficiaries and ensuring that deserving applicants continue to receive the benefits of the scheme. He said all necessary legal and administrative measures would be taken to protect the programme and ensure its smooth implementation.

The ongoing court proceedings have generated considerable public and political interest, with discussions focusing on the future of the scheme and its impact on beneficiaries. CM Sawant sought to reassure applicants that the government would stand by its promises and continue to work towards fulfilling the objectives of the housing initiative.

As the legal challenge progresses, the government has maintained that it remains confident in its position and is committed to defending the scheme before the courts. Beneficiaries have been urged not to be concerned, with the Chief Minister emphasizing that the state’s resolve to provide housing assistance to eligible families remains unwavering.
