The Goa government is set to undertake a comprehensive Digital Urban Land Survey for the first time in nearly five decades, marking a major step towards modernising urban land records across the state.
The survey will initially be carried out in Panjim, Margao, and Cuncolim, where authorities will update existing land records and issue Urban Property Cards to property owners. The initiative aims to create accurate, digitised records, improve transparency, and reduce disputes related to land ownership.
As part of the process, draft land records will be prepared and made available for public scrutiny. Residents and property owners will have an opportunity to examine the records and file objections or suggest corrections before the records are finalised.
The government has urged citizens to actively participate in the verification process to ensure the accuracy of the updated records. Officials believe the digital survey will streamline land administration, strengthen property documentation, and enhance the delivery of public services.
