MH Car Drives Wrong Side on Mandovi Bridge

A major accident was narrowly averted on the Mandovi Bridge after a Maharashtra (MH)-registered car was allegedly spotted driving on the wrong side of the road, triggering panic among commuters and disrupting the flow of traffic.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was seen travelling in the wrong lane on the busy bridge, forcing oncoming motorists to slow down and take evasive action to avoid a collision. The incident created a tense situation, with several drivers expressing concern over the potential for a serious accident.

The wrong-way driving reportedly led to traffic congestion on the bridge as vehicles slowed down and commuters attempted to navigate the hazardous situation safely. The incident also raised fresh concerns over road safety and adherence to traffic regulations on one of Goa’s busiest routes.

Motorists present at the scene said the driver’s alleged negligence endangered not only their own life but also the lives of other road users. Several commuters called for stricter enforcement against reckless driving and urged authorities to take prompt action against traffic violations that put public safety at risk.

The incident has once again highlighted the dangers of wrong-way driving, particularly on high-traffic stretches such as the Mandovi Bridge, where even a momentary lapse can result in devastating consequences.

Authorities are expected to look into the matter and take appropriate action if traffic violations are established.
