
Tree Collapse in Undir Causes Property Damage Worth ₹1 Lakh; No Injuries Reported
UNDIR, GOA — A sudden tree collapse at Tariwada, Undir, near the Datta Mandir area, resulted in significant local property damage. According to details released by local news outlet The Goa Monitor, the monetary damage resulting from the fallen tree is estimated to be around ₹1 lakh. Fortunately, despite the structural impact and scale of the collapse, no injuries or casualties were reported among the residents or passersby in the area.
Following the incident, emergency services were quickly alerted to clear the debris. A team of firefighters from the Ponda fire station, led by firefighter Vasudev Parab, promptly arrived at the location to initiate the emergency operation. Using specialized equipment, including chainsaws, the rescue team systematically chopped and removed the large tree trunk and branches that had obstructed the site.
The swift intervention by the Ponda fire services team successfully cleared the area, preventing further damage to neighboring houses and public infrastructure. Their rapid response ensured that normal activity and safety were quickly restored to the community around Tariwada.
