Eight people were rescued from drowning in separate incidents along Goa’s coastline on Tuesday, thanks to the swift response of lifeguards deployed at the state’s beaches. The rescue operations were carried out by Drishti Marine personnel at various locations, preventing what could have been multiple tragedies.
According to officials, the incidents involved beachgoers who were caught in strong currents and rough sea conditions while swimming. Lifeguards responded immediately after receiving distress alerts and successfully brought all eight individuals to safety. None of the rescued persons sustained serious injuries, and first aid was administered wherever required.
Drishti Marine has urged tourists and residents to exercise caution while entering the sea, particularly during periods of strong currents. Beach visitors have been advised to swim only in designated zones monitored by lifeguards, pay attention to warning flags, and follow safety instructions issued by authorities.
Officials reiterated that timely intervention by trained lifeguards continues to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of beachgoers along Goa’s coastline. They also appealed to the public to avoid venturing into the sea under unsafe conditions.
