FIRE BREAKS OUT AT OIL SHOP NEAR KTC BUS STAND, MAPUSA

MAPUSA: A sudden fire broke out at an oil shop located near the Braganza Building, directly opposite the KTC bus stand in Mapusa, triggering a brief wave of panic in the bustling commercial area. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 6:23 pm. As smoke began to billow from the establishment, bystanders and commuters quickly alerted the authorities, causing a temporary disruption to the heavy evening traffic in the vicinity.


​The Mapusa Fire and Emergency Services (FES) responded to the distress call with remarkable swiftness, dispatching a team to the site to contain the emergency. Upon arrival, the firefighters immediately initiated operations and successfully brought the blaze under control before it had the opportunity to spread to adjacent shops or the nearby Braganza Building. Their rapid intervention averted what could have been a major disaster in the densely packed market area, and authorities confirmed that no injuries or casualties were reported during the incident.


​While the situation was quickly stabilized, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
