WORKER SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER COMING INTO CONTACT WITH LIVE WIRE

A major accident unfolded at a railway bridge construction site in Curchorem, leaving a worker with serious injuries after he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire. The sudden electrocution occurred in the midst of active work, highlighting the critical and inherent risks associated with heavy infrastructure and electrical development.

The situation intensified rapidly, significantly escalating the danger at the site beyond the initial shock. During the incident, two 5-kg welding gas cylinders that were present at the location reportedly exploded. The blast threatened to turn the workplace accident into a wider, far more severe catastrophe, severely endangering the lives of all other personnel present on the ground.

Fortunately, a much larger disaster was averted due to the incredibly swift and courageous reaction of fellow workers who were at the scene. These colleagues acted promptly to cut off the electricity supply, successfully neutralizing the immediate electrical threat. The injured worker was immediately attended to for emergency care, and a further official inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the workplace accident is currently underway to establish safety accountability.
