Theft Cases cracked; Accused held in MP

Porvorim Police have cracked multiple theft cases reported from two prominent residential complexes—Devshree Green, Porvorim, and Prudential Paradise, Mapusa—with the arrest of the accused in Madhya Pradesh. The breakthrough came after an extensive investigation involving technical surveillance and the analysis of evidence collected from the crime scenes.

According to police, the accused allegedly carried out a series of thefts at the residential complexes before fleeing Goa. Acting on specific leads, a police team tracked the suspect to Madhya Pradesh, where he was apprehended with the assistance of local authorities. He is currently being brought to Goa on a transit warrant to face further legal proceedings.

During the return journey, the Goa Police team was reportedly attacked by a mob in the Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Despite the incident, the officers managed to retain custody of the accused and continued with the transit process. No official details regarding injuries to the police personnel have been disclosed.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused was involved in other thefts in Goa or neighbouring states. Authorities are also working to recover additional stolen property and identify any accomplices connected to the case.
